The Challenge:
Spectralys is proposing to develop a range of innovative AQUALYS analyzers for Eau de Paris, the Paris water utility, for quick measurement of the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of the intake water throughout the drinking-water purification process. This range will include in-line sensors mounted on the water intakes for continuous quality monitoring and a portable sensor for characterizing each stage of drinking-water purification.
When used with predictive models, this control system will ensure:
- greater regularity of the quality of the water produced, notably by identifying pollution spikes in the intake water in real time and adjusting the dosage of the treatment products
- further optimization of the quality of the water produced by monitoring organic matter removal at each production stage and using the possibility of feedback (retro-action) to adjust the pollution removal solutions, and lastly,
- lower production costs due to precise calculation of the treatment product doses injected at each stage.
